The Singer's Love
She is a
musician, his presence is a song.
A melody
that interweaves, strokes, plucks at her heart's strings
She is a
piece of paper - endless possibilities
He forms
spots and stripes
To those
able to read, a symphony of their life
Together
Weft and
weave; mast, oar and sail.
She is the
sea, deep and fathomless
He is
waves and spume which upon her play
Passionately.
On a ship
built carefully, lovingly, longingly
He the
mast, she, sails, which unfurl and fill
Billow in
the fresh winds
Mast and
sail thrust their magnificent creation
Through
oceans, over seas
Gliding.
Negotiating
smaller waterways where sails do not dance
Calls for
oars
Effort and
expenditure
Engine and
oar
These
debilitate the great vessels choices
Still the
voices, which emerged in the play
Of wind
and sail
Lost
oceanic vistas
Though
love will avail
Straightened,
manoeuvring
Creates
strain,
Echoes and
aches which long
For open
seas again
