Detroit Police Station - Jimini's Art 2009
Reflections
of reality,
Physical
state
Abandoned
Deemed
unnecessary unimportant
Non
threat to national security
Unneeded
nor a right to protection
As
in their lives
The
United States makes clear where it stands with regards to these men
The
sparsely scattered women in their midst negligible,
All
long maybe al(l)ways neglected
The
streets reflect the photos
Discarded
by organisation and law
No
infrastructure
Returned
to a time before the First Nations warded,
Created
an order in natures’ chaotic strive for existence.
Empty
eyes, pinned, sad,
Frustrated,
angry, frightened, bored, challenging, challenged eyes
Look,
regard, stare and glare
From
dirty, water stained, damaged or glaringly pristine photos
Full
face, right and left side
Imagine:
“thumb, index, middle, pinky; both hands” and “Here’s
a
cloth”
Finger
prints noted,
Left
behind, as the photos
1,000’s
of faces, forsaken
United
in their uniformly unkempt, uncared for uncaring
A
building once a citadel of law
Where
was justice?
Those
who may receive protection
Have
been placed elsewhere
Here
where there never was justice,
Law
and order are relinquished.
These
images,
Those
people outside
These
people's images inside
All
are cast aside.
